Criminal Justice Academy

This magnet academy includes all basic high school course requirements plus specialized training in the field of law enforcement. Students will study the basic course materials used by those in training to be police cadets. Additionally, the curriculum covers investigative procedures, forensic science, physical training, principles of the law and wireless public safety communication. Students will have the opportunity to earn FCC radio operation certifications.

The Criminal Justice Academy is offered through a partnership with the Sacramento Police Department. Students will be provided opportunities to explore the broad range of careers within the field of criminal justice during their enrollment in the program. Upon graduation, many students will be eligible to apply for the position of Public Service Aide with the Sacramento Police Department, while continuing their education at a local college or university, possibly leading to a position as a sworn officer or full time civilian position with the City of Sacramento.
