Getting Started
Families can enroll their students in Sacramento City Unified School District online or in person at our Enrollment Center. For complete enrollment information, including application links, required documentation, and office hours, visit our dedicated enrollment website.
2025-2026 Enrollment is ongoing throughout the year. Students new to the district are automatically enrolled in their neighborhood school. Visit SchoolFinder to locate your family's neighborhood schools.
High School Speciality Programs (HSSP)
Sacramento City Unified offers in-district families the option to apply for specialty programs at our high schools, offering unique academic pathways and career preparation.

Transfers & Permits
Students who wish to attend a school outside their neighborhood attendance area or who live outside district boundaries may apply for transfers or permits. Please visit the Transfers & Permits page for specific options and application windows.

The SCUSD application window is November 3–21, 2025. All families interested in a CKM Specialty Program—whether or not you live in our attendance area—must apply through the SCUSD SchoolMint portal; seats are awarded via a centralized lottery. Living in the CKM neighborhood does not guarantee placement in a specialty program (it guarantees enrollment at CKM only).

CKM offers five programs: Air Force JROTC, Criminal Justice Academy, Humanities & International Studies (HISP), Law & Public Policy (LPPA), and Visual & Performing Arts (VAPA).
Through SchoolMint, students complete self-nomination questions confirming they can meet the program’s rigorous academics and community-service requirements.

School Boundaries and Attendance Area
CKM’s attendance area is roughly bounded by the American River (north), the Sacramento River (west), Highway 99 (east), and 47th Avenue (south).
